Have been eyeing this one for a while:
Yes, I am aware that it’s not exactly gonna challenge Valentino Rossi anytime soon, but it WAS cheap and a decent city runabout for that awesome Pretoria to Joburg commute, which usually takes approximately 4 millennia to complete in a car, each way.
Used to cost R24000 (Approx a year and a half ago). Went to have another look today and was blessed with the wonderful news that it now costs R35000. That’s nearly 50% more. WTF? It’s nice, but not an extra 50% nice. (and you’ll note that I said NEARLY 50% – before the maths squad beats down my door with their calculators and their pocket protectors, seeking retribution for crimes against an abacus).
On the other hand (Darren), the Kawasaki Ninja 250R has only gone up by R3500 in a year (R42500 to R46000) – still a big increase, but not nearly as hectic as Honda’s. Plus it’s a lot cooler – see for yourself:

So the Kawa costs R10000 more, but it’s a LOT more bike for your buck. What’s going on here folks? Hmmm? Explain yourselves.
