If you’re like me you’re still using old-ass programs on your PC. And no, it’s got nothing to do with “it works perfectly” or “it does everything I need it to do so why upgrade?” – it’s essentially down to the fact that I am exceedingly cheap.
That being said, eventually you gotta upgrade coz everyone else is on newer versions and you’re getting tired of asking them to resave stuff in dinosaur-format. Thus I find myself looking at upgrading from Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007.
“But wait!” I hear you shriek. “Office 2010 is just around the corner”.
(You need a life).
So guess what – Microsoft, terrified of being left with tons of old stock, have announced that if you buy Office 2007 between 5th March and 30 September 2010 you will be able to upgrade to Office 2010 for FREE once it has been released by downloading it from the Microsoft site.
And so…
Do you care?
I do – coz if I buy 2007 now it’ll probably be far cheaper than buying the new 2010 version later this year… and if you were paying attention you’d know that I’m a cheapskate and this deal is right up my alley.
Fascinating.
